everybody's in it.
Look close.
Beyond the mask they wear when they leave the house.
Behind the eyes that keep no secrets.
You can see it.
Look close enough and you see it everywhere.
The common bond that runs through the heart of every human spirit.
Pain.
Start looking, and you can’t help but to see it everywhere.
Everywhere.
It’s part of every story.
But most of us can’t see beyond our own.
Most of us move through life, unaware that the co-worker we whine at everyday carries her own pain.
That the man sitting solo in the corner booth at brunch last weekend who didn't register a thought in your brain…he has it too.
Or the clerk at the cash register you see every morning…she’s in it.
Each of them with you.
Like you.
Each carrying their own pain.
Hiding themselves behind their own story.
Tied together by lives rooted in a struggle designed to help you see…
…that it’s not about you.
“A new
commandment I give to you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this, all people will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another.”
John 13:34-35 ESV
The hope to overcome is a strength and love provided God alone.
He is the solution.
An answer we are meant to share with each other.
The only way to the real fruit.
The only way to fill that void.
But instead, you exist in a self-centered headspace.
Inside a world that encourages it.
For a reason.
The world tell's you that your pain is special.
So you categorize yourself with it.
Separated from the others.
Divided and distracted we fall apart.
Into the waiting arms of the enemy.
But, the Kingdom flips it upside down.
You are special.
Not because you carry a unique pain.
Not because you exist.
But, because you exist on purpose.
With purpose.
To serve.
A purpose.
By design.
Found in the pain you are so busy to ignore, medicate, or hide you miss the point.
It’s time to stop asking the world to help you figure it out.
There are no answers there.
It’s time to stop pretending you have it figured out.
There are no answers here.
It’s time to set it down.
It’s time to give it to Him.
Then, share it with them.
Heal, and then serve.
Always walking forward, with Faith + Fortitude.
